Why Choose Us?

FAQs

WHAT areas do you cover for pet sitting?

Pet sitting services are offered within the catchment areas of Dún Laoghaire, Blackrock, Stillorgan & Booterstown.

Sandymount, Sandyford, Foxrock, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill & Cherrywood are also serviced for shorter pet sits. Case by case suitability applies to make sure that your pets' needs are fully met.

As a personal interest, Weekend Pet Sitting in Surf friendly coastal locations is also available.

How do I BOOK THE PET SITTING service?

You can fill out our request form HERE or email Emma.

Emma will contact you to confirm availability for your desired dates and ask for some more information relating to your pets' care.

An intro consultation will be arranged, where you will have the chance to meet Emma and vice versa before the pet sit, for your pets to familiarise themselves and feel comfortable, and lastly, to arrange any necessary logistics such as keys.

Please note that a deposit is required to reserve pet sitting bookings.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured for everyone's safety and peace of mind.

What is the cost of 1-2-1 pet sitting?

Costs vary depending on the service required, duration needed and pets involved. Overnight Pet Sitting is our most popular service. This costs €90 - €110 per night based on 1 pet. Pet sitting during the day or evening care costs €18 - €40 per hour. These costs relate to our serviced catchment areas - if further travel is required an additional mileage cost may apply. Please note: Weekly Dog Walking services are a separate service. Please see Dog Walking for more info or register your dog on our booking system for Dog Walking services.

Do you offer discountS?

Yes, we offer a discount for pet sitting bookings of 9+ nights

Do you offer house visits?

Yes, I offer drop-in visits during the day.

The only full-time pet care option available is overnight pet sitting. Unfortunately spaced requests for say: 8AM, 2PM & 8PM aren't something offered due to limited availability so a family member or friend must be staying in the home.

Drop in visits are to assist with any gaps where someone can't keep your fur baby company during the work day or you'd like them to get out for some extra fun.

Do you have references?

Yes, you can find dozens of 5 star Google reviews by clicking here.

What do I need to provide?

All that's required from the pet guardian for overnight pet sitting services is a clean living space, bedroom prepared with bedding and a towel. Please make sure to leave enough food for your dog for the duration of the pet sit.

This includes their kibble / butternut box, any meal toppers, treats and any enrichment fillers for kongs, etc.

Please leave your dog's collar, harness, lead, poo bags, food & water bowls, bed & favourite toys in an easy to access spot.

Who is pet sitting suitable for?

Our pet sitting service is especially suitable for multi-pet households, where someone coming to take care of them in their own environment is smoother than bringing your dog and your cats to care facilities.

The service is suitable for pets who enjoy their own environment more than that of a boarding facility or kennels, for pet parents who wish for the convenience of having a professional come to them, the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your pets and house are safely cared for while away from home and the excitement in getting to see what their pet is up to through daily photo updates.

This service can be particularly helpful for reactive dogs, who struggle in environments that involve living in close proximity to other dogs.

Similarly, pet parents with puppies and dogs who have not been neutered can find boarding options limited. Pet sitting can provide a suitable alternative.

who is pet sitting not suitable for?

Unfortunately pet sitting isn't best suited for dogs who are not yet comfortable alone for any period of time.

For pet sitting carried out over a weekend accomodations can be made around young puppies who need near constant company.

However, during the week there is a need for dogs to be comfortable at home alone after walked and fed for a 3-4 hour time frame on any given day.

If your dog experiences separation distress the pet sitting service will not be suitable as there may be times your dog will need to be comfortable in their own company.

Please ask Emma about suitability if you are unsure.

If your pet has as bite history this may not be a suitable fit. The pet sitter must be safe in the presence of your pet/s.

The other case where this service may not be suitable for is dogs from different homes entering the one home for joint pet care. If your dogs are used to living together and have the same daily routine please make a note of this and we can assess suitability.

Can i do a trial pet sit before arranging pet sitting for a longer trip?

Yes, you can arrange for a trial pet sit. It's always most comfortable for everyone when things feel familiar. If you're setting off on a holiday for 2 weeks and haven't left your dog with someone before it can be helpful to arrange a trial pet sit to make sure that yourself and your pet/s are comfortable.

A trial pet sit is often set up as a 1-2 night pet sit before a longer or more important trip, to make sure that your pets are familiar and comfortable in someone elses care.

Overnight pet sitting is carried out as the only person staying and caring for the pet/s and home. So this option may be tricky to plan in ways of a trial as you will need to arrange a 1-2 night trip yourselves to be able to carry out the service.

The cost of a pet sit set up as a trial is the same cost as otherwise.

Evening pet sitting or multiple introduction visits in the lead up to an overnight pet sitting booking can be arranged as an alternative to build familiarity and trust.

Are dog walks included?

Yes, your dog's usual routine is followed during the pet sitting dates. 2 dog walks per day are included in the overnight pet sitting service. Additional walks are charged separately.

can you train my dog while i'm away?

If you'd like your dog to receive training for behaviours you're currently wanting to change, pet sitting can be arranged as a 1-2-1 in-home dog training camp.

Dog training fees additionally apply for this.

If this is something you're looking for, a free call can be scheduled to discuss your goals and a custom plan can be arranged once the training is suitable within the pet sitting context.

will my dog be walking with other dogs?

It's completely catered to each dog. If your dog enjoys the company of other dogs and is safely manageable on lead it would be a pleasure to arrange to bring your dog out with other dogs.

If your dog is nervous of other dogs or prefers solo strolls then solo strolls it is!

how long have you been doing this for?

I have been pet sitting since early 2018, so 7 going on 8 years now!
